Early music, from the archive to the concert hall

Musicological research with scientific grounding and historical rigour, brought to the stage.

TEMPUS | CIDM

The TEMPUS Centre for Musical Research and Dissemination is a private organisation devoted entirely to music in its cultural, scientific and educational dimensions. It was founded in March 2009 by the musicologist Marian Rosa Montagut and today works with distinguished researchers and musicians from around the world.

TEMPUS was born from the need to present the results of musicological research beyond publications, through live performances with scientific grounding and historical rigour. The Centre’s main goal is the recovery of rarely performed repertoires, currently along two lines: on one hand, the Hispanic musical heritage of the 16th to 18th centuries, brought from the archive to the concert hall by the specialist ensemble Harmonia del Parnàs; on the other, the creations of women from the 15th century to the present day, taken to the stage in concerts and shows with EIDOS Ensemble.

TEMPUS also collaborates with specialist groups around the world, such as the Capilla del Sol of Buenos Aires (Ramiro Albino, cond.), Ars Cantorum of Uruguay (Gastón Gerónimo, cond.) and the Coro del Fin del Mundo of Ushuaia (Pablo Poznan, cond.).

TEMPUS | CIDM keeps an extensive specialised library and carries out numerous outreach activities to bring music to all audiences, and it coordinates the “Martín y Soler” International Singing Competition and the Polinyà de Xúquer Chamber Music Festival (Valencia).
